BBT SE employs more than 180 employees from a wide variety of disciplines, including geologists and hydrogeologists, surveyors, excavation engineers, environmental engineers, materials experts, lawyers and specialists in the field of administration. They work in the two company offices in Innsbruck and in Bolzano and at the construction sites.

To do this, the behaviour of concrete, steel and rock has been described with special material regulations in order to simulate the deformation the tunnel undergoes due to these stresses. In this way, the Brenner Base Tunnel is safe and materials are used efficiently.”

The Brenner Base Tunnel project includes numerous areas of knowledge and work. The main people building the structures are civil engineers and construction workers, miners, mechanics and electricians. A project of this size also requires the knowledge and efforts of environmental engineers, geologists and geotechnical experts and lawyers, financial experts, physicists, experts in construction materials and construction managers for the administrative area.
